Frequently asked questions

Everything you may want to know about our temporary email service.

What is temporary email (temp mail)?

A temporary email is an address you can use for a short time and throw away. It lets you receive verification emails for sign-ups, downloads or trials without giving out your real address.

Is it free and do I need to sign up?

The service is completely free and needs no sign-up, password or personal details. Your address is created automatically when you open the page.

How long is my address valid?

You can choose 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour or 24 hours. Before it runs out, the "Renew time" button restarts the timer.

What happens to my messages when time is up?

When time is up, the address, all of its messages and attachments are automatically and permanently deleted from the server. Deleted data cannot be recovered.

Can I send email from this address?

No. Temporary addresses are for receiving only, which prevents abuse of the service.

Can I receive attachments?

Yes. Attachments of incoming emails are stored up to the size limit set by the administrator and can be downloaded through a secure link.

Is the email content safe?

Email content is stripped of harmful code and shown in an isolated frame that cannot run scripts. Remote images used for tracking are blocked by default. Still, be careful with links and attachments from unknown senders.

Can anyone else access my inbox?

Access to your inbox uses a long random key that cannot be guessed and is stored only in your browser. Someone who knows the address can send you email but cannot read your inbox. Anyone you give the QR code or share link to can see your inbox.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. The site works on phones, tablets and computers. The QR button moves the inbox from your desktop to your phone.

Why do some sites reject my address?

Some sites block known temporary email domains. Create a new address with a different domain and try again.

Can I use it for important accounts?

We do not recommend it. For accounts that may need a password reset (bank, payments, main accounts) use a permanent address; a temporary address cannot be accessed once it expires.

What happens if I abuse the service?

Spam, fraud and illegal activity are forbidden. If abuse is detected, access may be blocked. Use the contact page for reports.
